Description
After several years of exploration of the TeV scale, the Large Hadron Collider is now putting strong bounds on the existence of new physics at the weak scale. I will discuss the scope of these bounds and their impact on theories of physics beyond the Standard Model. I will argue that precision studies of SM processes are sensitive probes of new physics and can provide a unique handle to probe the scenarios of new physics that have proven hard to probe with standard search strategies. The role of top quark precision observables will be discussed in detail and I will illustrate how studying top quark we can probe models that have so far resisted LHC searches.
