I briefly review the status of theory and experiment for the muon anomaly (g-2) which together exhibit a discrepancy of about four standard deviations when the hadronic vacuum polarization (HVP) is taken from data. However, a recent lattice calculation of the HVP, with comparable errors, by the BMW collaboration shows no discrepancy. I discuss lattice calculations of the hadronic contributions, focusing mainly on the HVP from two ongoing calculations with colleagues in the ABGP and RBC/UKQCD collaborations, respectively.
