I will first introduce the colour-flow representation for gluons which allows for a graphical calculation of colour factors. Then I will promote the QED/QCD gauge functions to dynamical fields (ghosts) and generalise the respective gauge symmetry to the BRST symmetry. Finally I will construct a BRST symmetric Langrangian and derive from it Feynman rules in axial and covariant gauge.
