Description
Bell's theorem --a theorem showing that some quantum phenomena cannot be explained under the joint assumptions of realism and locality-- appeared 50 years ago and Bell's inequalities --the tools to confront quantum mechanics with local realism-- have been actively investigated since those days, both theoretically and experimentally. The seminar, addressed to non-specialists, will review the meaning of these inequalities and the experimental situation with some emphasis on particle physics.
