Description
The detailed exploration of the Higgs sector and the search for New Physics beyond the Standard Model are the two main goals of the recently started Run II of the Large Hadron Collider. In this program, pushing the boundaries of perturbative QCD calculations and tools is essential in order to optimise the exploitation of the LHC measurements. In this talk, I present three recent examples of this cross-talk between pQCD and the searches for new physics: (i) NLO+NLL squark and gluino cross-sections with threshold-resummed PDFs, (ii) Higgs pair production with jet substructure, and (iii) using LHCb charm data to improve predictions for event rates at neutrino telescopes as IceCube.
