Description
Graphene 2D crystals react to variations in bias voltage by changing it resistivity. This property can be used to detect photons and charged particles like ions. A group at IFAE is investigating the potential use of this sensors as particle detectors. The first step in this direction is the design of a readout concept avoiding high power consumption and the understanding of the noise properties of the resistive readout. This work will present the first results on the noise characterization of graphene sensors under several conditions. The noise properties of different readout schemes are presented showing a good performance of the novel readout concept by IFAE.
