On the 7th-9th of October all the Severo Ochoa research centres were invited to La Palma together with national and international science journalists. It was an opportunity to show IFAE’s research, get to know what others are doing, meet the press, and also compare ourselves with the rest of Severo Ochoa centres in terms of how well we convey the message of who we are and what is it that we do. The slogan of the forum was “communicating frontier science”, so science communication was the key point of the meeting. We heard from journalists, experts, and fellow researchers. In this talk I’d like to summarise some key messages that emerged from the forum that might help us lead the ongoing discussion on how can we improve our communication with the general public. http://www.iac.es/congreso/severoochoa/index.php/es/
