Matteo Cavalli-Sforza: Prospects For WIMP Dark Matter Detection in Liquid Argon TPCs

Description
At IFAE, we recently became aware of a research program that promises to either detect WIMP DM or place limits with sensitivities reaching the irreducible background from neutrino scattering for masses up to 10 TeV. A 20-ton detector may be ready in about four years. I wish to share with you what I am learning on how this experimental method will reach this performance.
