DESCRIPTION:Speakers: Salvador Moreno Gómez\n\nAccurate proton range veri
 fication (PRV) in proton therapy (PT) remains an unmet clinical need\, and
  is essential to fully exploit the potential of PT to improve treatment ef
 fectiveness and reduce side effects. We present a computer simulation stud
 y (using GATE 10) of an imaging system based on Cherenkov light detection\
 , combining an array of PbF2 crystal detectors with a coded-aperture mask 
 for real-time PRV. In this seminar\, I will explain the general process of
  image reconstruction using iterative algorithms\, along with their limita
 tions and computational demands\, and how they apply to this system to rec
 onstruct the point at which the proton beam stops (known as the distal fal
 l-off position). Under realistic proton beam conditions\, this reconstruct
 ion achieved good accuracy and precision for sufficiently high beam intens
 ities. This work presents the concept and demonstrates the feasibility of 
 using Cherenkov-based coded-aperture imaging for proton range verification
