Black hole paradoxes, old and new

I will present a nontechnical discussion of the longstanding question of how black holes store and process information. In particular, I will introduce the modern version of the so-called “black-hole information problem”, originally presented by Hawking in the 70´s, and its implications for modern approaches to quantum gravity, such as the holographic principle.
