Description
The top quark, as the heaviest particle in the Standard Model of particle physics, holds a unique position, offering a window into fundamental interactions and potential new physics. This seminar will review the latest advancements in top quark physics while the analyses of Run 3 of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN are ongoing. It will focus on recent progress in the study of the top quark's fundamental properties and production mechanisms, including the evidence for a quasi-bound "toponium" state near top-anti top production threshold. Recent single top-quark and measurements results using top-antitop events will also be discussed. The seminar will further highlight ongoing searches for new phenomena in the top sector, including searches performed within the effective field theory approach.
