Bruno Giménez - The Optical Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence with MAGIC

During the last few years a lot of exoplanets have been discovered and we have seen that communications by optical light are becoming more efficient. Moreover, the MAGIC telescopes will be eclipsed by the new CTA telescopes in high-energy astrophysics and in astroparticle observations. Here we present a second life for MAGIC as optical searcher for extraterrestrial intelligence (OSETI) and what suitable exoplanets we have to make these kind of observations. We have proposed a trigger system for this case and have made simulations in order to demonstrate that LASER signals can be discriminated from the noise.
