Description
Effective operators are a powerful tool for Dark Matter searches, because of their simplicity and because they provide a framework in which Direct Detection, Indirect Detection and collider experiments can put model independent constraints on the same space of parameters.
Here I discuss the limitations of this approach, due to the high energy reach of the LHC, introducing a few quantities that quantify the error made when using effective operators, and finally suggest possible ways to go beyond them.
