Towards a compact photo-detection module for astroparticle physics and more

The aim of the seminar is to discuss how a generic photo-detection module for astroparticle physics should look like. We will try to review different enabling technologies: sensors, Application Specific Circuits (ASICs) used for different functionalities, reconfigurable read-outs, integration technologies, etc. Then, we will try to summarize what should be basic requirements for astroparticle physics experiments and other potential applications. We will present some developments being carried out in the ICCUB which go in this direction along with some ideas for future developments. In summary, we will try to provide material to debate the feasibility of such "universal" module and to try to answer some questions: What should be its requirements? Are the present enabling technologies sufficient? How can we reach this goal?
