QCD, Higher Orders, and Beyond

As some of you might have heard, I will be leaving IFAE this July. To say a more orderly Goodbye, I had the idea to present a farewell Colloquium. The contents shall be roughly divided in two parts: the first being more scientific and the second somewhat less so. In the first half, I shall summarise some of my recent scientific work which also covers the topics of my last two PhD students. A determination of alpha_s from hadronic tau decays and some insights on the higher-order behaviour of the perturbative series in QCD. In the second half, I shall share moments, aspects and developments of a personal, spiritual journey, which to a certain extent contributed to my decision to bid farewell to ICREA, IFAE and Barcelona. Though the second part might appear much less scientific, it nonetheless constitutes a large fraction of my reality.
