Description

Strong first-order phase transitions are common in many extensions of the Standard Model featuring additional scalar fields. Such scenarios give rise to interesting consequences, ranging from the possibility to achieve baryogenesis at the electroweak scale, to the prediction of large amounts of gravitational waves. In this talk I will discuss a few models of this type and their main phenomenological features.
