Description

Black holes can be considered to act as fluids when we study their characteristic modes of vibration. This has been used to describe certain types of fluids through the AdS/CFT correspondence. Through this correspondence we are able to find interesting results about this fluids, such as their shear viscosity $\eta$.
Adding some extra ingredients to this gravitational theory we are able to describe also solid systems, as was shown few years ago. We show how this is done and derive some results from this model, such as the shear modulus or the maximum shear deformation the system might sustain. This toy model might be useful to describe strongly coupled solids through the AdS/CFT correspondence.
