Description
I will give an brief introduction to Soft Collinear Efective Theory (SCET), which is an effective theory that takes advantage of the collinearity of the particles involved in a fiven process (which makes it very useful for collider physics). I will give you the basic properties of the this top-down theory, I will talk about its degrees of freedom, the Wilson lines and some useful field redefinitions. I will also develop the lagrangian and guide you through how the matching is done (if we have enough time).

I will mostly follow this notes by Iain Stewart, in case you are interested in some reading.
