Description

In this talk I will discuss multi-field models of inflation where there are instabilities and strong particle production due to, a priori harmless, irrelevant operators. The instabilities can move the trajectory to a new multi-field attractor where the inflaton potential can be steeper thus potentially improving the microphysical picture for inflation. I will focus on models with a fast turning rate in field space. Interestingly, these models share common dynamical properties at the background and perturbation level. I will present some recent results on the size and shape of non-Gaussianities and discuss constraints from observations and from the overproduction of primordial black holes.
