Description
The precise knowledge of the heavy quark masses plays an important role in many phenomenological applicants, from Higgs physics to B-meson and charmonium decays. On top, quark masses are fundamental parameters of the Standard Model Lagrangian. At the precision required, many subtleties on their extraction from measured quantities are important. In this talk, we will review how to extract the charm and bottom quark masses from experimental data as well as from theoretical calculations based on QCD sum rules, and we will discuss the state-of-the-art error budget estimation of these parameters.
