Abstract: Recently, a deficit with a significance above the $3\sigma$ level, known as the ”Cabibbo Angle Anomaly” (CAA), emerged in first row CKM unitarity. Interestingly, it has been shown that this anomaly can be interpreted as an additional indication of Lepton Flavour Universality Violation (LFUV), complementing an already interesting pattern of anomalies. After reviewing the origin and the status of the anomaly, I investigate various possibilities to explain it via physics beyond Standard Model. I focus on models featuring correlations with other hints for LFUV such as $b\to s\ell\ell$ and$\tau\to\mu\nu\nu$, resulting in interesting predictions to be tested experimentally in the near future.
