Description
Perturbative expansions in Quantum Field Theory, generally, are expected to be divergent. More specifically, it is assumed, and in some cases proven, that they lead to asymptotic series. The type of asymptotic behaviour can be characterised by "renormalons", a term introduced by 't Hooft in the seventies. The talk will aim at providing a basic introduction into the topic.
