Description
When very high energy particles reach the atmosphere, they produce a shower of secondary particles. This phenomena is used in the field of astroparticles to observe the most energetic particle reaching the Earth. The observatories use the atmosphere as part of the detectors and, hence, a good knowledge of it is required. The Raman LIDAR technique provides precise information on the quality of the atmosphere. The IFAE/UAB Raman LIDAR being built for Cherenkov telescopes will be described.
