The upgrade for the T2K's near detector is moving forward. Last summer, the detector response of the prototypes were studied at testbeams at CERN. The IFAE group actively participated in the data taking of the resistive Micromegas as readout of a Time Projection Chamber. The analysis on the collected data has been recently finished and the work on a publication is ongoing. The most relevant results on the TPC tests will be presented and an outlook will be given.
The talk is focused on explaining the studies from the very bottom assuming no special familiarity with instrumentation or experimental physics presenting how the beam test was set, how the selection was developed, how the data quality was monitored, how we studied the performance of the prototype and what we learnt from it.
