Description
This session will address the following comment from the reviewers to D8.1:
- The plans for low latency gravitational wave strain data production and public dissemination of calibrated data, data quality flags, and their revisions, is lacking. The report must include this.
From the WP8 side, we must present a plan and associated requirements estimation for public release of GW strain data (and metadata) for ET, based on two potential public data release policy options:
a) The Cosmic Explorer public release data model [1], based on immediate (as close to real-time as possible) public data release
b) The LVK embargo based data release model, based on public data release after a given embargo period (i.e. 18-24 months).
From the WP6 side, we need a carefully formulated reply to the question "when will the data be made public?". We need to be clear that (a) is an option that is being fully investigated, even if the decision is a complicated process that may still take time.
