2025 European Edition of the International Workshop on the Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC), Barcelona, Spain
UPF
Barcelona, Spain
The 2025 European Edition of the International Workshop on the Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC) will take place in Barcelona, Spain, June 16th to 19th.
The workshop aims at gathering scientists from Europe and around the world to pursue international collaborations for the study of the physics potentials of the CEPC and accelerator and detector optimization, deepen R&D work on critical technologies for future machines and experiments, and develop plans towards an Engineering Design Report (EDR) for the CEPC accelerator and a Technical Design Report (TDR) for a reference detector.
The workshop program consists of plenary sessions and parallel sessions. They will cover: Physics, Accelerator, Detectors, Computing, Tools and Performance developments relevant for the future colliders. The workshop encourages participation from early career scientists, especially from post-graduate students and postdocs.

Readout Electronics for the CEPC Reference Detector 20m
The Electronics system of the CEPC reference detector has completed the design of the overall framework based on background simulation and the baseline readout electronics design of the sub-detectors. We will implement the overall design of the Electronics-TDAQ system based on a common backend electronics and a common trigger system design. The framework design of the front-end electronics system will be realized based on a common data-fiber interface and a common radiation-hard power module. Furthermore, based on the baseline schemes of each sub-detector system, a targeted front-end electronics design has been proposed, which will implement a front-end triggerless, full backend trigger architecture. This talk will introduce the design considerations of the CEPC Electronics-TDAQ system, the common electronics framework, and the recent main related R&D efforts.

CEPC Detector Readout Trigger System 20m
The Circular Electron-Positron Collider (CEPC) is a next-generation particle collider designed for precision measurements and searches for new physics. An essential component of this experiment is the trigger system, which will select important events from the vast amount of data. This presentation will cover the study of the CEPC trigger system, including the baseline trigger system design scheme, which consists of a two-level trigger system: the first level hardware trigger and high level trigger. This talk will also present the current trigger simulation results, including the trigger algorithm and the event rate estimation.

CEPC Detector Data Acquisition System 20m
This report outlines the design plans for the CEPC detector data acquisition system. Firstly, it describes the RADAR data flow framework, which aims to implement a high-performance and flexible data acquisition platform based on experience from previous experiments. Exploration of heterogeneous acceleration methods is underway to optimize future online data processing capabilities. Additionally, the design of online service software will enhance system stability and provide practical monitoring and management tools for DAQ users.
The report will also cover the conceptual design of the Experiment Control System (ECS). As a centralized management platform, ECS plans to integrate subsystems such as DAQ and DCS, and introduce AI technologies for intelligent monitoring and anomaly diagnosis, thereby supporting safe and efficient experiment operations.

Determination of the Fluxes in the ILD calorimeters at the Circular Colliders 20m
The detector based on Particle Flow require highly granular calorimeters posing many challenges in their implementation. Specifically, their electronics must be embedded, and the scaling of the DAQ and cooling systems must be adequately scaled. Using the CaloFlux tool, based on full simulation of the main processes and machine backgrounds, we can estimate the flux of hits in section of the calorimeter system; from there the data and heat production under various assumptions on the electronics can be assessed. This will be illustrated for the ILD detector; extensions to other detector will be discussed.

DRD7: status and plans 20m
The DRD7 (Detector R&D) collaboration, anchored at CERN, unites numerous international research institutes and laboratories to push the boundaries of particle detection technology. This collaboration brings together expertise from fields such as particle physics, electronics engineering, and materials science to develop cutting-edge detectors needed for next-generation experiments in high-energy physics. The goal of DRD7 is to strengthen research partnerships, pool
resources, and drive technological advancements that will help tackle
the challenges of future scientific experiments. By adopting open development practices and facilitating the sharing of intellectual property, DRD7 enhances the efficiency and capability of all participants. The work is organized into several work packages, each targeting specific technical goals and aligning with the strategic recommendations of the Roadmap. Additionally, efforts are underway to establish common standards and approaches for electronics, which will
support the broader DRD program.Speaker: David Gascon
